Enhanced Galileo Performance Explorer Agent
Provides 50% more detail for IBM SVC and Storwize V7000 storage monitoring.
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 26, 2013 at 2:52 pmGalileo Performance Explorer, a cloud-based performance monitoring tool developed by the ATS Group for server and storage system analysis, has expanded its infrastructure charting tool for users of IBM SVC and Storwize V7000 storage systems.
An enhanced performance-monitoring agent features 52 new charts addressing 63 metrics of storage system performance, providing substantial new opportunities for better utilization analysis and IT capacity planning decisions.
“This latest agent upgrade delivers a total of 150 charts covering 169 metrics specifically for IBM SVC and IBM V7000 storage monitoring,” says Tim Conley, co-founder, Galileo Performance Explorer. “It includes expanded R/W metrics and write-cache statistics covering clusters, I/O groups, nodes, and volumes, with data captured at 5-minute intervals for deeper analysis and ‘what-if’ planning.”
Compression statistics display up-to-the-minute compression volumes and capacity savings to document efficiencies achieved through thin provisioning and compression. Port-error counters and host-attributed latency metrics highlight areas for remedial action.
Galileo also provides a convenient way for SVC/V7000 users to view storage system configuration data right within the dashboard of the performance-monitoring tool. With this most recent enhancement, Infrastructure charting tools now provide 479 charts tracking 683 metrics across three server OSs and seven different IBM storage systems.
All Galileo capabilities are accessible for evaluation via a free 30-day trial program.
