This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 17, 2013 at 2:54 pmRambus Inc. has opened a research center in Paris, France.
The European extension of Rambus Labs will address complex security requirements and extend research for IP core integration across a variety of innovative initiatives.
“Paris makes an ideal location for a Rambus research facility thanks to the technology and security experts in the region,” said Dr. Martin Scott, CTO of Rambus. “As security considerations become a bigger part of all integrated circuits, we are dedicating resources in this research center to utilize our core expertise in both security and embedded hardware to develop compelling, innovative solutions to bring to market.”
Rambus Fellow Craig Hampel, combining his applied research and innovation in system architectures with his expertise in IP core integration and security, will initially lead the Paris research center.
With a background in hardware-based security through the technologies developed by Cryptography Research, Inc., the research center will develop comprehensive solutions including software, cores, interfaces and tools that facilitate the integration of security hardware into sophisticated SoCs.
Finally, the center provides an opportunity for Rambus to expand connections with existing industry leaders, university and academic research facilities in the area.
