$599 per license
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 20, 2013 at 2:36 pmParagon Software Group launched HDD Manager 14 Professional, Business and Premium editions, following last month’s release of the home-user product, HDM 14 Suite.
It offers image- as well as file-based backup and DR to protect data, minimize downtime, and lower storage and management costs while ensuring BC through instant system recovery.
It offers a set of imaging and disk management utilities for administrators, including backup and DR, live server migration (P2V, V2P, V2V, and P2P), virtualization, partitioning, partition alignment, and disk wiping. Flexible licensing options are available along with competitive reseller margins.
“Since 1998, HDD Manager has been the utility of choice to protect systems and data for field engineers, IT administrators and desktop support technicians,” said Tom Fedro, president, Paragon Software. “With the launch of HDM 14, we have raised the bar even further offering the most comprehensive disk-management suite available to empower our users to confidently address any sever- or workstation-based technical issue they encounter.”
The image-based backup and recovery technology is entrusted by airports, the International Space Station, universities, manufacturing companies and VARs.
Features:
- Support for Windows 8.1, Server 2012 R2 and the latest version of VMware’s ESX hypervisor
- New user interface that is compatible with Windows 8 and Server 2012 R2
- uEFI Support that simplifies boot connectivity and overcomes uEFI/GPT migration challenges
- pVHD backup container, the company’s proprietary VHD format, is optimized for virtualization and DR. By storing platform-independent backups of both physical and VMs, it allows for recovery of Windows or Linux-based systems while retaining disk layout, and boot and partition data. Images convert to VHD, VHDx or VMDK formats, and mounted as a virtual HDD on a VM
- Support for Windows storage spaces provides backup and recovery of storage pools like standard volumes
- Support for BitLocker-encrypted volumes includes backup, restore, copy, hide/unhide, and delete, and more
- Enables copy/restore to dissimilar sector sizes to copy or restore the contents of a 512-byte HDD to a 4k HDD with no additional actions required
For corporate IT departments and help desk operations, it is an all-in-one disk management utility, allowing IT administrators to maintain physical and virtual Windows systems throughout their life cycle with minimal effort.
The technician license is the tool for companies with support teams that are maintaining a large number of systems in the field, these include medical monitoring or high-tech equipment manufacturers; large organizations with a highly distributed environment like financial institutions or large restaurant chains. Many customers combine technician licenses with per-seat and volume licenses for maximum coverage and investment flexibility.
For independent IT consultants and the services groups of VARs or SIs, it saves them time and helps them increase service revenues and margins.
