Paragon Development Systems and iomartcloud Deliver Cloud Backup

VMware, Inc. announced that iomartcloud Group plc and Paragon Development Systems Inc. (PDS), both members of the VMware Service Provider Program, will provide backup to the cloud services based on vSphere Data Protection and vSphere Data Protection Advanced.

The companies join previously announced SunGard Availability Services in an ecosystem of service providers that will offer backup to the cloud services for vSphere.

Growing partner ecosystem to offer backup to cloud services powered by EMC Avamar, vSphere Data Protection 5.5 and vSphere Data Protection 5.5 Advanced feature storage for backups, capabilities to accelerate recovery, and integration with vSphere. The backup replication feature in vSphere Data Protection 5.5 Advanced works to copy backups of data into the cloud through encrypted replication, without requiring add-on licensing or additional infrastructure components like WAN accelerators. Service providers can build out these backup to the cloud offerings with the availability of vSphere Data Protection 5.5 Advanced.
