World Data Products Acquires Infinity Data Solutions

In certified magnetic media tape and data eradication

World Data Products, Inc. (WDPI), an independent provider of on-demand new and OEM-quality refurbished IT hardware including servers, storage and networking equipment, has acquired Infinity Data Solutions, LLC (IDS), in certified magnetic media tape and data eradication.

IDS, which provides a variety of differentiated data center products and services, specializes in the data eradication and certification of magnetic media tape. The company’s industry-leading processes ensure that each tape is error-free and surpasses new tape performance, while providing customers significant cost savings compared to buying new.

Other data center services offered by IDS include data migration, labeling and initialization services, data center relocation and migration, magnetic tape cleaning, tape library audits, asset recovery, high security data transportation, and tape buy back.

We are very excited about the opportunity to partner with IDS and increase our growing presence in the storage market,” said Neil Vill, WDPI’s president and CEO. “This investment represents an important strategic opportunity to combine two industry-leading brands to offer a comprehensive range of IT hardware, certified media, repair and data center solutions that are customizable to each customer’s unique needs.”

We look forward to being part of WDPI,” said Jim Coffey, president of IDS. “We recognize significant synergies between our two organizations and believe that together, our complementary offering will help expand the company’s market presence and increase its reach.”

IDS will relocate its operations in early 2014 from Omaha, NE, to WDPI’s HQs in Minnetonka, MN

WDPI is a portfolio company of Prospect Partners, LLC, a Chicago-based private equity firm focused on investing in niche market leaders.

It sells hardware brands such as Cisco, Dell, IBM and HP.
