This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 7, 2013 at 2:09 pmStorage software developer Open-E, Inc. announced the update ‘up11 build8826‘ for its DSS V7.
Users can download the update from the website and benefit from improvements including new and updated features.
The research, development and QA teams focused on providing the HA storage cluster for virtualization, optimizing the Hyper-V Cluster, VMware and Citrix support in the software. Code refactoring and optimization of the iSCSI target were the key to this improvement, especially the support for persistent reservation which is required by Hyper-V clusters.
A number of drivers have been included in the upgrade. Supported are the Series 7 Adaptec RAID controllers with the RAID management technology MaxView, Intel GbE i210/i211 controllers and Areca ARC-12×4 adapters. Also, the web GUI of the software is available in Japanese, and the log mechanism has been extended for a more detailed process analysis. Regarding updated functionalities, it supports all important network interface controllers by Intel and Emulex, as well as RAID controllers, such as LSI MegaRAID and LSI NYTRO MegaRAID.
“The new update of Open-E DSS V7 supports a lot more relevant hardware components and makes our software even more user-friendly,” states Krzysztof Franek, CEO and president, Open-E. “Additionally, users can now expect much better stability and failure resistance of the iSCSI Target and iSCSI Failover Cluster.“
