Tivoli Storage Productivity Center for Replication for System z, V5.2

IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center for Replication for System z, V5.2 offer the same capabilities and support that are provided by the replication portion of the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center distributed product version, but for the IBM System z environment.

• Tivoli Storage Productivity Center for Replication for System z

These products can help you to manage more easily and efficiently hundreds of replication sessions across thousands of volumes for both open and System z attached volumes. They can manage point-in-time, continuous volume replication services, monitor sessions, and report on the volumes not in synchronization with the source site. It also adds data protection capabilities with proactive management of copy services operations.

V5.2 products support managing combinations of copy services available on IBM enterprise storage devices, such as FlashCopy and Metro Global Mirror, including HyperSwap on IBM z/OS.

New in V5.2 is support for SVC Change Volumes, System Storage DS8000 Global Mirror pause with consistency, and the ability to manage HyperSwap on z/OS from a Tivoli Storage Productivity Center server on an open system. With V5.2, you no longer need to install any version of any WebSphere product on z/OS, and Easy Tier Heat Maps on System Storage DS8000 can now be transferred between systems. Now, after an unplanned HyperSwap in Metro-Global Mirror environments, a full-volume copy of the data is no longer required when returning to the three-site configuration.
