This release continues to offer storage infrastructure management that helps optimize storage management by helping with centralizing, simplifying, automating, and optimizing storage tasks associated with storage systems, data DR, storage networks, and capacity management.

It is designed to provide device management capabilities such as automated system discovery, data replication, configuration, and performance monitoring for storage systems and storage networks.

New in Tivoli Storage Productivity Center V5.2:

• A web-based user interface that now provides improved device management, custom tags, and agent-less (unmanaged) server management
• Performance troubleshooting enhancements with a performance monitor and health view, threshold violation views with charts, and views to performance information for all resources
• Replication management of SVC Change Volumes, the lower bandwidth remote mirroring solution
• Virtual volume transformation including data compression
• Volume performance reports by server, unmanaged server, and hypervisor, and performance data exports to multitab Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
• Extension of Tivoli Storage Productivity Center benefits into VMware vCenter through the web client extension
• Enhanced VMware support as a vSphere API for Storage Awareness provider
