Where he was chairman and CEO.
By Jean Jacques Maleval | October 2, 2013 at 2:58 pmOn LinkedIn, you can remark that Steve O’Donnell is no more at GreenBytes where he was chairman and CEO, even if his name continues to be cited on the company’s web site with these two functions.
He is now consultant and advisor in IT and services.
He was named CEO of GreenBytes in November 2012, replacing Bob Petrocelli.
At this time, Steve Duplessie, founder and senior analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group, said about his former colleague: “Steve O’Donnell is one of the very rare breed of IT technology executives who has truly walked the walk – he has lived this life. Operating data centers all over the world, Steve knows the difference between a novel idea and a practical need. His involvement instantly gives GreenBytes credibility on a global level.”
Before joining GreenBytes, O’Donnell was CEO at MEEZA in Qatar, a large data center and managed services business, MD at Enterprise Strategy Group EMEA, an analyst firm, global head of data centre operations at British Telecom, and member of the advisory board at Fusion-io. Recognized as an expert in green IT and sustainability, he has been the recipient of six industry awards including the British Computer Society Best Use of Green Technology. He acts as a spokesperson for the IEEE on Cloud and IT Security. He is the author of What Every CIO Wants – a Guide for High Technology Salespeople and is credited as the initiator of the Green Grid’s Data Center Maturity Model.
