IBM System x3650 M4 HD Server

IBM System x3650 M4 HD high-density storage server is designed for your big data or business-critical workloads.

This 2U-high 2-socket high-density storage rack-optimized server features high-spindle HDD drives and an on-board 12Gbps RAID controller.

With a design that delivers balance of performance, uptime, and dense storage, it offers reliability, availability, and serviceability for an improved business environment. It is designed for easy deployment, integration, service, and management. It is for big data applications, cloud computing deployments, data management, and business-critical workloads.

The x3650 M4 HD high-density storage server supports up to twenty-six 2.5-inch HDDs/SSDs or sixteen 2.5-inch HDDs/SSDs plus sixteen 1.8-inch SSDs. It is for high-performance, storage-intensive applications, including big data or business-critical workloads.

It supports multiple RAID adapter configurations. Offering the Xeon E5-2600 v2 series processors and 1866 MHz memory support, the x3650 M4 HD delivers balanced performance and storage density. The server offers an energy-smart, affordable pay-as-you-grow design to help manage costs and risks.

• Up to two 12-core powerful Xeon E5-2600 v2 series processors
• Twenty-four DIMM (RDIMM/UDIMM/LRDIMM) slots that enable to deploy up to 768GB of memory with LRDIMMs, fast memory bandwidth with the ability to run up to 1,866 MHz speed
• Integrated IBM ServeRAID M5210e on the motherboard, 12Gbps hardware RAID-0, RAID-1, RAID-10; optional RAID-5, RAID-50, or RAID-6, RAID-60 (model dependent), and up to 4GB flash-backed cache

Note: The System x3650 M4 HD server will support 768GB with 32GB LR DIMM and 4GB flash-backed cache when and if they become available.

Note: The Windows Preinstallation Environment software contains a security feature that will cause an end-user customer’s system to reboot without prior notification to the end-user customer after 24 hours of continuous use of the Windows Preinstallation Environment. During routine usage of ServerGuide, which does not usually require usage of the Windows Preinstallation Environment software for such an extended time period, this condition should not occur.
