Mellanox Technologies, Ltd.
announced that its end-to-end, FDR
56Gb/s IB interconnect solutions provide performance for compute
demanding applications running over Xeon processor E5-2600 v2
product family.
Applications running over the Intel Xeon processor and Mellanox’s
FDR 56Gb/s IB solutions demonstrate over 30% better performance,
enabling businesses to do more, faster, lowering product design
cycles and time-to-market.
The FDR 56Gb/s IB solutions, consisting of ConnectX and Connect-IB
IB adapters, SwitchX-based switch systems, cables and software,
optimize server and storage productivity with bandwidth and latency
performance while maximizing CPU efficiency. The combination of this
solutions with the processor from Intel has demonstrated application
performance increases versus the previous Intel processor generation:
- 35% performance increase for the LINPACK benchmark over a 16-node
cluster,
- 32% performance increase for the NAMD and 26% for
GROMACS, two of the most popular molecular dynamics applications, and
- 27% performance increase for ICON, a weather and atmospheric
simulations software.
"Intel supports ecosystem development by providing state
of the art PCIe Gen 3 in our new Intel Xeon processor E6-2600 v2
product family," said Jim Pappas, director of technology initiatives, Intel Corporation.
"Intel is delighted that Mellanox continues to innovate on
the Intel platform, taking advantage of the latest PCIe Gen 3
features in our Intel Xeon Processors."
"We applaud Intel’s new Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v2
product family, which will provide end-users with even greater
application performance potential," said Gilad Shainer, VP
marketing, Mellanox. "Together with Mellanox FDR
56Gb/s IB interconnect solutions, the new Intel-based platforms will
ensure IT managers the highest performance for their compute
demanding applications and provide the best return-on-investment in
their data center server and storage upgrades."
The solutions are available and include OEM support from Dell, HP, and IBM.
