Greg Butterfield CEO, Vivint Solar

Vivint Solar, a residential solar integrator, has announced the appointment of Greg Butterfield as CEO.

He has more than 25 years of executive-level experience in the software and network system management industries, most notably as chairman and CEO of Altiris.

"This is a critical expansion period for Vivint Solar and we welcome Greg’s record of consistent, annual revenue growth and profitability at both private and public technology companies," said Todd Pedersen, founder and CEO, of Vivint, Inc. "His expertise will help widen our customer reach and further develop our technology and team."

 Prior to joining Vivint Solar, Butterfield was a managing partner at SageCreek Partners, a technology investment firm. In addition to Altiris, he was also group president of server and storage management at Symantec Corporation and has held executive positions at Vinca Corporation and Novell. He has served as a chairman or a board member for RES Software, Needle, UT Valley University, UT’s Technology Council, UT Information Technology Association, and Omniture. In 2002, he won the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
