CA ARCserve D2D for Linux

CA Technologies, Inc. announced ARCserve D2D for Linux, providing data protection and DR for businesses running virtual and physical servers on the open source platform.
 
An image-based solution, it helps organizations protect the integrity and availability of critical systems, applications and data within their shrinking backup windows. It complements ARCserve D2D for Windows, providing a solution for heterogeneous environments.

ARCserve D2D for Linux provides fast and frequent backups to meet today’s demanding recovery point objectives, and flexible recovery options that reduce business downtime and support fast RTOs. In addition, built-in data security supports diverse compliance requirements.
 
ARCserve data compression reduces backup-related storage requirements and costs. Unattended bare-metal recovery enables systems to be restored to similar or dissimilar physical or virtual servers-giving customers much flexibility when it comes to recovery infrastructure. Granular recovery allows individual file restoration from any recovery point image.

Users access ARCserve D2D for Linux through a Web 2.0 console that enables hassle-free, automated agent installation, as well as centralized management, configuration and reporting of all protected Linux servers.
 
It can be licensed individually on a per-server (or VM) basis. It also is included in ARCserve managed capacity (per-terabyte) and virtual server per-socket offerings. In addition to IT organizations, it is for resellers and service providers seeking to add Linux data protection to their service offerings.
