Dupaco to Resell Appcara Cloud Application Management Solutions

In Europe

Infrastructure software distributor Dupaco Distribution
B.V.
from the Netherlands has recently signed a distribution agreement with
the California-based cloud application management company Appcara, Inc.

With this agreement, Dupaco adds a vital component to its ecosystem of cloud
solutions.

Appcara’s product AppStack solution enables enterprises, MSPs and
service providers to build and deploy complex distributed infrastructures on
top of generic IaaS clouds. This capability helps customers to distinguish
themselves from the competition and engage specific market verticals.

This fits in Dupaco’s ‘Move up the stack’ message towards
its MSP customers. In the near future, providing generic compute power from the
cloud (IaaS) will not be enough to survive and protect margins. Market
differentiation is key for a successful cloud strategy. With Appcara’s AppStack
organizations can build and market more profitable PaaS and SaaS solutions for
specific market verticals.

One of the advantages of AppStack is that it enables greater productivity
when standing up cloud deployments and managing them throughout their lifecycle
– from test and development, to provisioning, to production deployment and
scaling. AppStack’s patent-pending
dynamic model-based approach captures and defines important application states
and components, such as the tiers they occupy, relationships and dependencies
between components, and configuration parameters, and then maintains these over time in a configuration repository. Its application portal captures changes in
real-time. This approach automates the
provisioning and maintenance of applications over time compared to server
templates and scripts that more statically address basic app launching
purposes.

AppStack also supports a range of clouds, so customers can leverage their
investments in existing cloud infrastructures. With AppStack customers can also
offer higher value services to drive more
revenue from their existing investments. AppStack supports Vmware vCloud
Director
, OpenStack, Eucalyptus, CA AppLogic and Apache CloudStack, converged
infrastructures such as IBM Pure Systems and of course public clouds like
Amazon and Rackspace.

AppStack also includes an integrated App Marketplace with over 85 packaged
software applications that IT managers can point and click to deploy as SaaS
applications in minutes, saving IT time and costs and enabling them to move away
from packaged software deploy, install and maintain cycles. Service Providers can offer this App
Marketplace as their own white labeled app store, rebranding them with their
own look and feel for use with retail partners/resellers.
