Astute Networks, Inc., provider
of storage appliances, announced the expansion of its AstuteNET Partner
Program with fourteen new channel partners.
The profit-building program provides compelling sales
resources, marketing programs and support services for the a cost-effective flash storage offering, the ViSX family of performance storage appliances.
The expansion of the ViSX family of storage appliances with
enterprise data protection and a new MLC flash offering will be attractive to SME and SMB
markets. The MLC flash-based ViSX has been designed to offer lowe cost-per-gigabyte and high IOPS per dollar for enterprise
flash storage appliances at a solution price that is comparable to disk-based
storage systems. The MLC flash
solution and the ViSX Replicator, a flash-optimized data availability solution
that supports both synchronous and asynchronous replication will be generally
available on June 24, 2013.
The AstuteNET program, which has been enhanced with expanded resources to
maximize solution delivery and profitability, assists partners in becoming
trusted advisors to their customers by providing a component-rich program that
is built around ViSX a simple-to-deploy
flash storage appliance that is the perfect solution for both virtual
and physical performance-hungry applications.
New partners include:

According to a recent Trendfocus report, the enterprise SSD market is
gaining rapid traction in data centers and cloud storage, as the price per gigabyte
metric decreased to levels low enough to drive an inflection in demand. The
price per gigabyte of SSDs means the performance and TCO arguments in support of
flash storage are more compelling. With costs expected to continue
downward, enterprise SSD adoption is expected to continue to grow at rates far
outpacing other storage devices. In fact, the SSD market has grown 22% quarter
on quarter in the most recent quarter.
"The ViSX family of Performance
Storage Appliances gives our channel partners a solution that delivers a two to
five times performance and price/performance advantage over alternative
iSCSI-based storage arrays," said Steve Kucker, VP sales, Astute. "Our new ViSX appliances,
which complement existing installed disk-based storage arrays, are ideal
solutions for mid-sized customers giving them unprecedented application
performance and data protection at a price point comparable to disk-based
storage systems."
Findings from a recent Demartek report, Lab Evaluation of Astute Networks
ViSX G4 iSCSI Flash Storage Appliance, revealed that ViSX delivered a two
to five times performance and price/performance advantage over competitive
iSCSI-based storage arrays.
Astute breaks application performance barriers by resolving critical I/O
bottlenecks with the ViSX flash-based performance storage appliances for
physical and virtual environments. Based on its 10GbE DataPump Engine and networked flash architecture, ViSX gives IT managers a storage I/O acceleration appliance that boosts application and VDI performance
up to 10X in a matter of minutes. Companies improve user productivity, customer
satisfaction and revenue generation while eliminating the over-provisioning of
storage, servers, and network resources. ViSX co-exists with installed storage
and delivers 100% flash performance in a non-disruptive
solution, at prices comparable to disk-based systems.
