SolidFire Inc. announced
participation in Red
Hat’s OpenStack cloud infrastructure partner network.
Through this
collaboration and the certification program, customers deploying the
company’s storage platform with Red Hat’s OpenStack distribution will
get guaranteed block storage performance for their cloud
infrastructure.
The company is a contributor to OpenStack’s
block storage project (aka Cinder). The driver is embedded within
the service and does not require any additional software.
Functionalities and QoS controls are accessible through OpenStack.
The addition of Red Hat to SolidFire’s OpenStack partner ecosystem
complements the integrations announced with Nebula and Rackspace
private cloud at last month’s OpenStack design summit.
"Our OpenStack partners are integral for delivering complete
cloud infrastructure solutions to customers," said Dave
Cahill, director of strategic alliances, SolidFire. "Red Hat
is the unquestioned leader in open source software. Combined with
SolidFire’s leadership in OpenStack’s Block Storage project,
customers can have confidence that they are deploying a robust and
validated solution for their OpenStack cloud infrastructure needs."
"We’re
pleased to welcome SolidFire to the Red Hat OpenStack Cloud
Infrastructure Partner Network," said Mike Werner, senior
director, global ecosystems, Red Hat. "To help customers get
the most out of the Red Hat OpenStack offerings and our open hybrid
cloud solutions, we work closely with technology companies like
SolidFire that provide powerful and complementary solutions. We look
forward to continued collaboration with SolidFire as a key member of
the Red Hat OpenStack ecosystem."
