IBM XIV Storage Systems Gen3 Model 214 Support for Capacity on Demand Feature
For systems with 10GbE interface modules
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 3, 2013 at 3:11 pmIBM XIV Storage System Model 214 for machine types 2810 and 2812 supports Capacity on Demand (CoD) feature activation for systems equipped with 10GbE interface modules for 2TB and 3TB drives.
Key prerequisites
- XIV Storage System Gen3 Model 214 with XIV Storage System software version 11.2.0, or later, installed.
- Intermixing of port bandwidth between 10GbE and 1Gb within the same system is not supported (mutually exclusive).
- Partially populated XIV Storage Systems that are shipped from the factory with any of the raw capacity per drive options must continue to be populated with the same raw capacity per drive option.
- Intermixing of 1TB, 2TB, or 3TB capacity options in a single XIV Storage System frame is not allowed.
