IceWEB, Inc. announced that an
Ontario, Canada-based University will initially deploy IceBOX for 1,500 faculty
and staff members with a plan to include more than 20,000 students in phase two
of the project.
Additionally, the customer added the IceWEB 2250 13.5TB Unified Storage
Appliance with SSD IceCACHE and IceSTORM OSs to accommodate its growth plans
and leverage the 2250’s replication and DR capabilities.
"Our IceBOX enterprise solution
enables this customer to provide full BYOD capabilities to faculty and staff
with a path to providing the same functionality to their students. Concurrently
we are meeting the stringent Canadian regulatory requirements for storage. Our
complete cloud solution, which features secure cloud BYOD access and
collaboration with on-site secure data management capabilities, enables
Canadian customers to meet these regulatory requirements while allowing the
customer to maintain control of their intellectual property," said
IceWEB CEO, Rob Howe.
"The college and university
environment is an excellent application for both our IceBOX and our IceWEB
Unified Storage Appliances. We meet a myriad of unique requirements for higher
education, and our growing body of installations clearly demonstrates that our
solutions are providing consistent value to these institutions in a time when
their IT budgets are under pressure," Howe concluded.
