As a seasoned technology industry executive with a focus on deploying enterprise solutions in the Global 2000, he is charged with leading MemSQL’s global sales organization, reporting to Eric Frenkiel, MemSQL’s CEO and co-founder.

Wright joins MemSQL from Coraid, a scale-out Ethernet storage provider, where he served as EVP of WW sales responsible for a range of customer facing and product roles including field operations, corporate strategy, and product management. Under his stewardship, Coraid was able to 12x their revenue in less than three years while adding more than 1,500 new customers worldwide. He previously served as VP sales and corporate strategy at Kidaro, where he helped lead the company to a successful market position in the desktop virtualization sector before it was acquired by Microsoft. Prior to that, he was part of the executive management team that built Decru, which was subsequently sold to NetApp in 2005.
Prior to his executive roles at infrastructure technology firms, he served as chief information security officer for the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operation and global defense of the Marine Corps Enterprise Network, which supported more than 120,000 users worldwide. In 1999, he was awarded the National Security Agency’s Frank B. Rowlett Trophy for worldwide Information Security Professional of the year.
Carl has a Bachelor of Science in Management from Augsburg College and a Master of Science in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School.
