Toshiba Stor.E Canvio Portable HDD up to 2TB (€159)

Toshiba Europe GmbH, Storage Peripheral Division, has announced the STOR.E CANVIO Portable external HDD, which enables users to access digital content anywhere and at any time using 10GB of free cloud storage.

The STOR.E CANVIO Portable HDD comes with a storage capacity up to 2TB and is also pocket sized and travel friendly with a design in five bright colours.

With families and friends living further and further apart it is essential there be a reliable, secure way to share precious photos, videos and digital memories with loved ones, without relying on social networking sites where copyright and publishing controls are a grey area. Research shows that 64% of people dislike sharing family photos publicly online, and 61% of social networking users would share more if they had more control. The need for a secure way to store and backup valuable digital data whilst on the move has never been more important.

The STOR.E CANVIO Portable HDD is for storing and sharing private treasured digital memories. It is capable of storing up to 571,000 digital photos, 526,000 digital music files or 1,640 downloaded digital movies.

Equipped with a special internal shock sensor and ramp loading technology to keep digital files safe against accidental drops. And, with both 3.0 and 2.0 USB compatibility, it provides rapid transfer speeds. The HDD is also PC and Mac compatible.

The STOR.E CANVIO Portable HDD also comes with 10GB of free cloud storage using Pogoplug PC, a cloud storage platform. Toshiba has partnered with Pogoplug PC to provide owners of the new HDD with a free subscription to the cloud platform and 10GB of cloud storage. This means that with remote access software from Pogoplug PC users can access all their digital files stored on the STOR.E CANVIO from mobile devices anywhere providing the STOR.E CANVIO is connected to a PC and Internet environment.

The HDD also protects data with NTI Backup Now EZTM2, which scans your system and recommends the best backup coverage. Choose between backing up files to the STOR.E CANVIO portable HDD, or backing up everything saved on your computer, or choose both options for the coverage against loss, theft and corruption.
