GreenBytes IO Offload Engine Citrix Ready

GreenBytes,
Inc. announced that its solution for desktop
virtualization, the IO Offload Engine, has been verified as Citrix Ready.

The Citrix Ready program helps customers identify third-party solutions that
are recommended to enhance virtualization, networking and cloud computing
solutions from Citrix. The IO Offload Engine completed a verification
process to ensure compatibility with Xenserver, providing confidence in joint solution
compatibility.

The Citrix Ready program makes it easy for customers to identify complementary
products and solutions that can enhance Citrix environments. Customers can be
confident that the IO Offload Engine has passed a series of tests
established by Citrix, and can be trusted to work with XenServer to
deliver enterprise-scale VDI performance that meets the most demanding use
cases while enabling organizations to minimize costs, deliver custom
per-session settings, all while retaining their existing infrastructure
investments.

In a virtual desktop environment, the IO Offload Engine integrates
at the hypervisor level and manages specific data stores; the golden images
(provisioning), replica datastore (boot) and linked clone area (swap).

This platform combines massive bandwidth, patented zero latency inline
deduplication, compression and tight integration with XenServer. These features
allow a single IO Offload Engine appliance to absorb the IO from up
to 4,500 persistent virtual desktops at a cost per virtual desktop that is up to
an order of magnitude lower than conventional systems provisioned with either
flash or magnetic storage.
