Druva
Inc. introduced no-cost IT-managed endpoint backup for groups of
up to 15 business users with a Group
Edition of Druva inSync,
its suite of backup, file sharing, data loss prevention and analytics
solutions that protects more than one million endpoints for over
1,500 organizations around the world.
The free Group Edition of inSync –
designed for small teams – provides automatic backup for any mix of
Windows, Macs, iPads, iPhones, Android and/or Windows 8 devices,
along with remote access to backuped data from any device equipped
with the Druva client.
Backup to the inSync server enables
data recovery in the event of device failure, loss or theft. Remote
access to backuped files eliminates the need for end users to move
files from one device to another or into an insecure consumer file
sharing service for availability. These features help protect
corporate data from endpoint vulnerabilities, including the risks of
the BYOD movement, while also increasing user productivity.
Free Group Edition
and
paid
enterprise edition offer:
- Automated backups that eliminate work
interruptions for end users
- Self-service mobile data access from a
simple end user interface
- 90% savings on bandwidth and storage
with inSync’s global, app-aware, client-side de-dupe, conserving
space on the server where backup files are stored
- WAN optimization that boosts the speed
and efficiency of data transfers
- 20-minute installation of
administrative software and near-zero maintenance
- Data encryption in transit and at rest
The enterprise edition also offers
optional secure file sharing and data loss prevention add-ons that
will also be available in future versions of the Group Edition. It
provides an IT-controlled alternative to consumer-grade file sharing
services like Dropbox and YouSendIt, including a centralized audit
trail of all file sharing activity and automatic file/folder
synchronization between devices and users. The DLP functionality
encompasses data encryption, device geo-tracking and remote data
delete.
"With nearly one-third of
corporate data residing exclusively on laptops, growing business use
of tablets and smartphones, and the rise of the mobile workforce
increasing the risk of device loss and theft, endpoint protection is
becoming increasingly critical. Yet relatively few businesses today
have adopted backup solutions to provide a safety net for their
data," said Jaspreet Singh, CEO of Druva. "Our
inSync Group Edition provides a free enterprise-grade solution for
small teams to help businesses eliminate hours of data recovery work
as well as avoid permanent data loss for a device that goes AWOL."
The Group Edition is currently
available exclusively for deployment with up to 200GB in
storage. Full inSync implementations can also utilize public or
private cloud models.
