Branded solution for each of them

Gemalto
NV. has extended its portfolio of end-user cloud services
solutions for mobile network operators with a private file storage
and sharing application.
LinqUs
cloudnShare offers mobile network operators a fast-track to
launch their own branded and secure over-the-top application, or
complement their existing cloud backup services in the personal cloud
market.
The company reports that a Gemalto
end-user survey highlights the untapped demand for mobile operator
branded secure personal cloud services and reveals that 80% of mobile
users would use cloud-based backup and sharing services if offered by
their mobile network operator.
The company also noted that its sharing
application, accessed direct from either a mobile phone or PC, gives
users the opportunity to store files and share them with any
phone book contact, and to post and exchange comments. Users sign up
to the service by entering their mobile number and a password, and
can start sharing files and messages with any of their mobile
contacts regardless of their operator. Further, file sharing can
begin by clicking on a chosen contact’s name.
"This new addition to the
Gemalto personal cloud service portfolio provides operators with a
ready-made path to market with their own branded product,"
said Jean-Francois Schreiber, SVP of telecommunications solutions and services at Gemalto. "Inherently viral, the cloudnShare
application allows operators to leverage their key competitive
assets, particularly by using the mobile number as an ID, to
strengthen relationships with existing customers and raise brand
awareness with a wider audience than their own subscriber base."
Gemalto was presenting LinqUs
cloudnShare at Telco Cloud World Forum April 15-17 in London, UK.
