iPad and iPhone Client

For Gladinet cloud storage

Gladinet, Inc. announced an updated iOS client for Gladinet Cloud storage.

This new client allows users to read and edit cloud documents using any application on their iPhone or iPad. The updated mobile clients make Gladinet’s cloud storage access platform even more compelling.

The company offers a flexible cloud collaboration service to customers who are comfortable with public cloud storage services, but it is focused on allowing businesses and service providers to deploy a private ‘Dropbox’ equivalent using Gladinet Cloud Enterprise. That offering has been well received by customers, despite the missing mobile features that this update now addresses.

Gladinet’s CEO, Jerry Huang, stated: "We are pleased to provide our iPhone and iPad users with a significantly richer experience with this updated iOS client that makes it easy to share any file or folder on their device, upload pictures and video directly to cloud storage, or mark files and folders for offline access so that they can be worked on even when there is no active internet connection. The new client also allows documents to be opened with any iOS application. And finally, any iOS application that supports Webdav can leverage the new client for full readwrite access to any document in cloud storage."

The BYOD phenomenon has presented many enterprises with the challenge of accommodating the access needs of employees with mobile devices. Their employees have become accustomed to the convenience of public cloud storage while their IT departments are more comfortable with the control and security of on premise infrastructure. Gladinet bridges that gap by allowing enterprises or their service providers to deploy a private cloud storage solution with all the collaboration features users need, while maintaining complete control of the cloud storage and access infrastructure."

The latest client can be found in Apple’s App Store.
