This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 4, 2013 at 2:45 pmOpen-E, GmbH. announced its next generation strategy to bring enterprise class storage management to the SMB and SME markets.
At CeBIT 2013, it will introduce Open-E Data Storage Software (DSS) V7 with Hyper-V Cluster Support and the new product Open-E Multiple Storage Server Manager (MSSM) for simplified central management of all storage resources, enabling virtualized storage management for big data and Cloud Computing.
"Exiting 2012 with continued excellent growth, Open-E is excited to bring this business success back to CeBIT, the world’s largest trade fair showcasing digital IT and telecommunications solutions, where we will demonstrate our commitment in providing affordable virtualized storage solutions that deliver superior performance and enterprise level reliability," said Krzysztof Franek, CEO and president of Open-E. "Our All-in-One Universal storage systems strategy allows businesses of all sizes to leverage off-the-shelf servers to simply build and operate the virtualized storage infrastructure they need to support their big data, cloud, and other enterprise applications."
This strategy is backed by delivery of product functionality. Open-E is providing optimization of virtual storage environments by releasing Hyper-V Cluster Support for Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 soon. This capability allows customers to set up a virtualized storage environment with no single point of failure, the highest reliability possible with server clusters, as well as price performance with an active-active iSCSI failover setup.
In addition, Open-E is presenting MSSM to provide a centralized management tool. The MSSM dashboard creates a single view of all storage servers and resources saving time and operating expense by simplifying the process of managing tasks on selected servers. These product releases follow the recent announcement that Open-E DSS V7 achieved VMware Ready status, VMware’s highest level of endorsement, after a validation process.
Franek concluded: "These new product releases of Hyper-V Cluster support and MSSM for Open-E DSS V7 validates our ongoing commitment to deliver on our All-In-One Universal storage systems strategy of providing SMB and SME customers’ enterprise class solutions and performance at an affordable price point. Potential customers and partners at CeBIT should come to our booth to meet with our technical and business staff to get tips on increasing their storage performance and more information on Open-E’s family of products."
