The drive is portable with a compact, credit card size casing weighing 41 grams and it requires no additional power (powered by the USB port). Bringing the advantages of solid-state memory with no moving parts; shock-proof, silent, low-power consumption, together with super-fast data read/write and USB 3.0 transfer, it is faster, lighter and more durable than a portable HDD. Featuring write speeds of up to 140MB/s and read speeds of up to 230MB/s.

Samik Halai, Integral’s senior product manager comments: "The Portable SSD offers an impressive combination of durable, pocket size storage in a device built for speed with SSD and USB 3.0 technology. I think the Portable SSD is a great accessory for any PC and Mac, plus you can use it with compatible car and home audio systems and a growing number of Smart TVs that let you record content onto an external drive."

The USB 3.0 Portable SSD range comprises of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities, compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 as well as Mac OS X 10.2.8 and above.

They are available from IT resellers including Amazon.co.uk and Insight.

Suggested retail price (including VAT) is £110.10 for the 128GB model, which comes with a two-year warranty.
