ViUX Deploys Parallels Cloud Server for HA Managed Cloud Hosting and Cloud Storage
Using Dell C servers

During the Parallels Summit 2013 in Las
Vegas, Parallels IP Holdings GmbH‘s gold partner ViUX
Systems Inc. announced deployment of Parallels cloud server for
managed cloud hosting on cloud storage using Dell
C-Series Servers.
Parallels cloud server changes how ViUX delivers cloud servers by combining Parallels cloud storage
with Parallels Containers and Hypervisor.
In recent weeks and over the coming
months the company will continue deploying Dell servers and upgrading
existing servers with Parallels cloud server software – replacing
prior stand-alone deployments of Parallels Virtuozzo Containers and
Server Bare-Metal, which ViUX has used dating back to 2006.
Parallels cloud server is a step in the
evolution of the ViUX Cloud, as it includes cloud storage technology,
which will improve the availability and performance of ViUX Cloud
Servers – with scalable Parallels cloud storage at its core.
It uses the existing unused disk space
on ViUX servers to deliver cloud storage at a lesser price than
competing solutions.
This provides for ViUX:
- Fault tolerance (no
single point of failure);
- Performance (equivalent
to local disks versus network storage devices);
- Low cost cloud storage
solution.
Each PowerEdge C-Series server
that ViUX deploys has approximately 4TB of storage per node (with 4
nodes per server), and Parallels cloud storage takes this disk space
and combines it into one cloud storage pool upon which the VPS
Containers and VMs running on each node are replicated across the
storage pool – for both performance and fault tolerance.
Parallels Cloud Server includes:
- Parallels Containers, high-density
cloud server virtualization solution (formerly Parallels Virtuozzo
Containers), enabling near instant provisioning with no OS updates
required by the customer;
- Parallels Hypervisor (formerly
Parallels Server Bare-Metal) giving the flexibility to create VMs for
customers who prefer to manage and maintain their own OSs –
controlled by the hosting automation and billing system that the
company has also used since 2006, Parallels Business Automation
Standard.
Using Parallels cloud server and other
software systems, ViUX has deployed an automated cloud
hosting infrastructure from which a range of web hosting and managed
cloud services are offered, such as: shared cloud hosting; private
cloud servers; dynamic dedicated servers, etc., that appeal to a
broad customer base.
