VCE Vblock Selected for New gov.uk Website

VCE Company LLC,
in converged cloud infrastructure systems, announced that VCE
Vblock Systems are serving as the IT infrastructure supporting GOV.UK, a new UK government web site.

Skyscape
Cloud Services Ltd, a VCE, VMware, Cisco and EMC partner, was named
primary contractor for hosting the site by the UK’s Government Digital Service.
VCE Vblock Systems are being deployed in UK-based data centers in support of a
major digital services effort that hosts a variety of departmental websites,
expands digital services and is expected to result in substantial taxpayer
savings.

VCE Vblock Systems bring together cloud
infrastructure, server, networking and storage technologies from VMware, Cisco
and EMC into a single intelligent, secure converged infrastructure system with support.
Ten of the world’s top 15 telecommunications companies utilize Vblock Systems
and over 600 customers worldwide have deployed Vblock Systems. Skyscape utilizes
Vblock Systems as part of its catalogue of UK sovereign services designed for
the public sector, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, with service level agreements aligned to business and
organizational requirements.
