In video and media production, data loss can be fatal. With a fail-over solution for ExaSAN storage, production continues in minutes in case something goes wrong. ExaSAN Storage and Archiware’s P4 Synchronize work together to secure the production data.
 
ExaSAN Storage provides a selection of RAID storage systems in different sizes from 8 bays to 24 bays. Each RAID system includes one or dual hardware RAID controllers, and modularized components to keep the RAID system working independently and with reliability. Also, the PCIe connection allows ExaSAN storage to provide high bandwidth for processing uncompressed video streams, and connect to ExaSAN switch composing SAN.
 
P4 Synchronize: Fail-over made easy
Shared production storage is time-critical. Therefore it needs to be kept available all the time. P4 Synchronize clones data to the secondary storage, creating a fail-over solution on the secondary storage. In case of emergency, switching over takes only minutes before all data is again available to continue production. Additionally file versions and snapshots can be kept. By using FSEvents copying changed files can start immediately without scanning the storage. Sync intervals can be kept short to reach an higher level of data security.
 
P4 Archive: Archive to LTO Tape
Save space by moving files to the Archive that are no longer needed for production. This is the central repository for all completed productions. Browse and search the Archive catalog in any web browser. Add metadata for description.

About PresSTORE P4
Archiware is the Germany-based producer of the  data management software PresSTORE since 2000. Its current version P4 offers four modules for specific storage requirements:

• Synchronize lets clone data between different locations (also from SAN).
• Backup saves data from severs to disk or tape.
• Backup2Go backups desktop and laptop data to disk.
• Archive moves data offline to disk or tape.
