File Sharing With Cortado Workplace

Cortado AG upgraded its cloud desktop app, allowing to share documents simply and securely.

Unlike other file sharing solutions, the solution doesn’t create an unsecured link, but instead makes the document available from a password-protected area in the cloud. A preview option allows the recipient to check the document even before accessing the file.

Sharing with Cortado Workplace is simple. Use drag and drop to drag the document you want to the browser window of the HTML5 client, then click the Share icon. Then enter the e-mail addresses of the recipients and click to confirm sharing. The recipient is sent a link to the document, with a preview option where supported.

For now, sharing is only available with the HTML5 version of Workplace and is best suited for use on a PC, laptop or Mac. The recipient can preview the shared document without a special program on his smartphone, tablet or desktop. The document is stored in a protected cloud drive and can be accessed with the native clients for iOS, Android and BlackBerry, or on a desktop with the HTML5 client. With Cortado Workplace, a file can also be shared directly from the cloud drive of the Cortado Workplace Accounts. This makes it unnecessary to download the document to your smartphone or tablet, which saves on data volume especially for large files.

The free native apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry can be downloaded from all the app stores.

Using the HTML5 client requires an HTML5-enabled browser.
