Novosoft Plans NAS-Based Backup Device for SMBs in Summer 2013
Equipped with Handy Backup
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 30, 2013 at 3:00 pmNovosoft LLC plans to release a hardware solution based on their software Handy Backup.
The new product will allow companies to create private cloud infrastructures for file backup and storage purposes.
"The greatest advantage of private cloud storage is that it offers extremely high speed and security, as compared to online services," said Alexander Rassokhin, product manager of Handy Backup. "It is critical for businesses to be able to recover data in the fastest manner possible, and at the same time it is critical to diversify the risks and not put all the eggs in one basket. Our private cloud backup solutions will bring the best of both worlds."
Earlier, the company announced Linux version of their solution Handy Backup and a new online service based on its enterprise offering, Handy Backup Network Server.
The service has client applications for Windows, Linux and Android devices, and features fast delta copying technology with web-based centralized management. By translating the same approach to NAS devices, Novosoft plans to enter the market of private cloud backup solutions.
"We are actively discussing partnership opportunities with hardware manufacturers of different types. There’s a lot of work yet to be done, but also many great professionals behind this initiative. We think that we will be able to start shipping the devices this summer," said Rassokhin.
