Specialist Distribution Group (Tech Data) First UK Distributor of Whiptail

Whiptail Technologies, Inc. announced that Specialist Distribution Group (SDG), acquired
by Tech Data, will be the first UK distributor of its storage array expansion Infinity.

This agreement will see Whiptail’s storage technology, combined
with SDG’s specialist services and expertise in virtualisation, provide an
affordable and performance storage solution to the channel.

SDG has been a Whiptail distributor since
September 2012, joining the company’s rapidly-expanding Channel programme in
the UK and Europe. In addition to offering Whiptail’s current portfolio of
all-Flash storage arrays, SDG will also roll out Infinity installations to
resellers and customers from the first quarter of next year.

Infinity is the first
hardware expansion from Whiptail, enabling customers to scale up and out the
company’s 72TB INVICTA array to 360TB of all-flash storage. The
array is designed to meet growing demand from enterprises that want to move
more business applications to fFlash, as they experience productivity gains with
initial virtualisation roll-outs.

The channel is a pivotal route
to market for Whiptail in Europe, as Brian Feller, VP and GM of Whiptail EMEA,

cope with changing market demands and business requirements with sustainable

Infinity will be available through SDG to the
UK channel in the first quarter of 2013. Full portfolio of all-flash
arrays are available from SDG and will be demonstrated at SDG’s Business
Solutions Centre located in Birmingham.
