Active Storage Announces First mPath Software Partners

Levels Beyond and axle Video

Active Storage, Inc. announced the first mPath technology partners: Levels Beyond, LLC and axle Video, LLC.

mPath adds a high-speed data movement backplane and file copy acceleration to the mMedia Platform. While content movement workflows can be configured and directed over this high-speed backplane with the included mPath Actions software or by leveraging the mPath API, productivity can be gained if the asset management software is mPath-enabled.

"mPath is a larger initiative than one company, it’s a new way of organizing and optimizing the modern media SAN," said Skip Levens , co-founder and VP, Active Storage. "We shared mPath with Levels Beyond and axle Video, two trusted partners, to validate our approach and our platform vision. They immediately saw the value of leveraging a new high-speed backplane with their software, and we are in the final stages of testing installations with leading customers now."

"Active Storage’s mPath technology is something that’s certain to make post production facilities wonder how they ever worked without it," said Danny Gold, strategy and solutions, Levels Beyond. "Combine Active’s mPath Actions software with our Reach Engine platform, and beating deadlines becomes a foregone conclusion."

Levels Beyond’s Reach Engine is in use at some of the world’s most complex and cutting-edge media and entertainment brands, including UFC and Hallmark.

"We’re delighted to be working with Active Storage to offer radically simple collaborative solutions with data migration capabilities built in," said Sam Bogoch , CEO, axle Video. "The mPath Actions software is an impressive step forward and we think it’s a real boost for standard SAN architectures."

Axle Video is in the emerging production asset manager solution category.

mPath is in final testing now with key customers, and will be available February 18, 2013 from Active Storage qualified resellers for a suggested retail price of $11,499 per mPath module pair with included software, support and maintenance for one year.
