Dot Hill Introducing iSCSI AssuredSAN 2333 Array for SMBs

Dot Hill Systems Corp. added to its AssuredSAN 2000 series, the AssuredSAN 2333 iSCSI array, designed to meet the needs of smaller sized companies that operate in an iSCSI SAN environment.

 
With three high-capacity drive options, customers can equip their data centres with 12, 24 or 36TB of RAID storage, the Dot Hill AssuredSAN 2333 iSCSI array provides ample data storage for small businesses. The storage system has two Ethernet ports per controller, and four in total, with a 12-drive system which fits in a 2U.

A RAIDar 2.0 interface provides a set of features and tools to ensure easy management and provisioning.

The AssuredSAN 2333 uses patented SimulCache technology that instantly and simultaneously mirrors cache between RAID controllers, leading to performance improvements over traditional implementations. In addition, the array features energy saving drive-spin-down which allows users to power down drives during off-peak hours, which can reduce both power and cooling expenses. Utilising its patented EcoStor technology, Dot Hill has eliminated the need for cache batteries by using super capacitors and flash memory to provide infinite cache backup during a power loss, while being environmentally friendly.
 
Dot Hill’s optional data protection software enables customers to protect valuable data assets. AssuredSnap provides built-in volume snapshot capability allowing point-in-time copies that can be used to maximise BC. AssuredCopy creates a full volume copy providing additional protection against disk failure and eliminating application I/O contention when accessing the same data blocks.

AssuredSAN arrays are easy to configure and manage with RAIDar 2.0, a web-based interface which provides storage setup and monitoring without the need for host-based software. RAIDar 2.0 also has configuration and installation wizards which saves administrators’ time.
