Scality Achieves Dell Technology Partner Certification

Scality has been formally recognized as a certified partner in the Dell Technology Partner Program.

By certifying Scality RING on the Dell PowerEdge R620, Scality offers a deployment proven integrated solution that delivers scalable, high performance storage for unstructured data.

Scality RING organic storage provides a software-based object storage solution for both primary applications and long term storage. Running on standard x86 servers it enables the selection of the optimal hardware for any given deployment, allowing customers to specify the hardware vendor of their choice, based on their existing relationships and the demands of their application and users.

Scality has announced
several Dell based deployments including:

• A solution for large file, media storage at German Aerospace’s Earth Observation Center – where RING provides storage for high resolution satellite imagery
• Email storage for 8 million users at Libero S.r.l, Italy’s largest email provider
• A Storage as a Service solution supporting 2.5 million customers at Host Europe in Germany.

Scality RING’s organic flexibility and range of application connectors make it a choice for different large scale storage use cases – including StaaS, Email, Media and Web 2.0.

Each of the three use cases uses a different connector – best suited to the needs of the client: Host Europe uses an S3 connector that supports flexible billing and Libero uses Scality’s recently announced Scale-Out File System with ARC erasure code option.
