This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 10, 2013 at 2:50 pmKanex, a trademark of Apogee Inc. in Apple and iOS connectivity solutions for homes and businesses, announced a lineup of Thunderbolt cables.
The new Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt cable lineup will include four lengths including .5M, 1M, 2M and 3M.
These cables help provide high-speed data transfers for Thunderbolt equipped devices.
Kanex Thunderbolt cables helps users transfer full-length HD movies in 30 seconds or back up one year of continuous MP3 music in just minutes. With 10Gbps transfer rates, Thunderbolt is about ten times faster than USB 2.0.
"The number of devices being equipped with Thunderbolt technology is growing and there have been many customer requests for a variety of cable lengths", said Kelvin Yan, president of Kanex. "Our customers are looking for solutions to satisfy their office, classroom or business environments and with our new length options; we have cables to meet their needs."
The new cables connect Thunderbolt-compatible Macs and PCs with Thunderbolt-equipped peripherals such as hard drives, high-resolution displays, audio/video devices and more through a single, compact port. Like a super-highway with two-express lanes, Kanex Thunderbolt cables support PCIe (data) and Display Port (video). Thunderbolt technology supports fast data transfer with two independent channels of 10Gbps each. Users can also daisy-chain up to six high-speed devices without using a hub.
Thunderbolt cables are compatible with MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini and other PCs with Thunderbolt ports.
