Starboard
Storage Systems, Inc. announced that its AC
Series flash-based arrays have been verified as Citrix
Ready for both NAS and SAN to ensure compatibility with Citrix
XenServer.
The Citrix Ready program helps
customers identify third-party solutions that are recommended for
virtualization, networking and cloud computing solutions from Citrix.
Customers such as Delta
Dental Associations are benefiting from the joint solution and
consolidating their current infrastructure while preparing for future
growth.
With the verification, the Starboard
AC45 and AC72 arrays have passed a series of tests
established by Citrix and can be trusted to work with XenServer,
showing the compatibility of both companies ‘ solutions in customers’
environments.
"We needed a solution that
could give us the same performance and availability, without the
ongoing management headaches," said Scott Threlkeld,
director of IT at Delta Dental. "As we considered the storage
options available for our Citrix environment, we found many had a
steep learning curve or included costly software licensing. Then we
found Starboard’s hybrid storage system. When we compared it to the
others based on cost and functionality, Starboard was clearly the
best choice."
"The Starboard hybrid storage
technology addresses many of the challenges that we see today in both
file- and block-based environments," said Randy Miller,
president of Global Document Storage Systems, Inc., an IT reseller. "Our
customers now have a more sophisticated and cost-effective way to
consolidate any type of data into a single, easy-to-manage system
that will reduce the administrators’ work by more than 50% and allow
for a more efficient future expansion."
"As a member of the Citrix
Ready program, customers can deploy our hybrid storage solutions with
confidence and transform the performance and efficiency of their
XenServer environments," said Lee Johns, VP of product
management at Starboard Storage. "We are committed to working
closely with our technology partners to provide the best customer
experience and offer our channel partners new revenue opportunities
with proven storage systems that leverage the latest flash
technologies in the most cost-effective ways."
