StorMagic Chosen by US-Based Retailer With 2,000 Locations

With storage virtual appliance SvSAN

StorMagic, Inc. reports a major US-based retailer with 2,000+ locations has
standardized on the storage virtual appliance (SVA) product SvSAN.

SvSAN version 5 was developed to meet the growing demands of
enterprise retail organizations managing multiple distributed stores.

"StorMagic’s
success with this major retailer is yet another milestone in our strategic
focus on the retail market,
" said Hans O’Sullivan, CEO of StorMagic.
"SvSAN addresses a real need for
retailers that cannot be addressed by traditional storage products. And that is
why we were selected by this major retailer over much bigger competitors.
"

In StorMagic’s recently released retail
customer profile, the challenges and resulting ROI achievements are
outlined. For this large big box retailer with 2,000+ locations, downtime
across their distributed stores due to hardware and RAID failures was one of
the most concerning issues. There are more than a dozen business applications
running in the stores and the loss of revenue due to system failures was too
costly.

As a result of implementing StorMagic’s
SvSAN, a certified SVA for vSphere, the retailer achieved HA to the
applications running in virtual-server environments while avoiding the costs
and complexity of traditional SAN solutions.

"StorMagic
is well-positioned to be the leader in virtual storage for the retail industry,
"
said Tony Asaro, founder and senior analyst for the INI Group. "Their focus on this vertical is very smart
and they continue to add differentiation, value and expertise that gives them
an edge over other solutions that try to be all things to all people.
