Synology Plus Series NAS VMware vSphere 5 Ready

With support for vStorage APIs for Array Integration

Synology, Inc.
announced select models of its plus series NAS server achieve the status of
VMware vSphere 5 ready with full support for vStorage APIs for Array
Integration (VAAI).

By incorporating the VAAI technologies into the plus series,
Synology carves out an affordable storage solution for VMware virtual servers.

Synology supports VAAI primitives that
include Hardware Assisted Locking (ATS), Block Zero, Full Copy, and Thin
Provisioning. The complete VAAI support not only offloads tasks from ESXi
server to storage arrays, but also achieves gains in system performance and more
efficient utilization of storage space. When deploying the plus series NAS
servers, businesses are entitled to greater simplicity, agility and efficiency
in their virtualization environments.
