Opinion of VARs on Private Cloud Software for IT-as-a-Service CloudFrames

By CloudFounders

CloudFounders NV, developer of advanced private cloud software for IT-as-a-Service solutions, has started to receive feedback from VARs involved in its CloudFrames availability programme that has run since September.

Over 10 VARs across Europe have taken part in the early availability programme to test the features and deployment claims made by CloudFounders in respect of its CloudFrames software that converts commodity x86 hardware into a multi-function, reliable and performance private cloud.

CloudFrames is an integrated solution built over six years of engineering that delivers a cloud automation and management engine offering a single pane of glass for server, network and storage virtualization.

As Ramon Ristenpatt, operational manager for First IT, Belgium explains: "The performance was extraordinary and the speed of deployment is superb. We tried to heavily load the system to get it on its knees, but haven’t succeeded so far."

For OmniLedger Limited, a UK-based IT solution provider with over 25 years’ experience, CloudFrames has successfully been deployed as the platform for its Housing Management SaaS solution. As Kevin Hand, technical manager for OmniLedger, explains: "CloudFrames performance and flexibility allows OmniLedger, a leading developer of software for Housing Associations, to meet our customers’ needs by delivering our solutions on any required customer hardware platform including our new Cloud infrastructure powered by CloudFrames."

"So far, one word: awesome." is the response to CloudFrames from John Haan, account manager at Dé Netwerkbeheerder, an IT support specialist with several offices across the Netherlands.

"VARs need a cost effective and reliable platform that meets the expectation of both customers and operational drivers," explains Joost Metten, CEO for CloudFounders. "Early Availability program allows VARs to really test our technology with our assistance within their own environment."

CloudFounders will be releasing additional data as a result of the first larger scale VAR implementations that are expected to complete in early 2013. Based on early cost comparisons, a CloudFrames-based solution with enterprise class features is approximately 40% less than an equivalent solution build exclusively using VMware tools.
