Permabit Adds Windows Version for De-Dupe 2

Permabit Technology Corporation launched a Windows-based version of its Albireo Software Development Kit (SDK) that allows service providers and hardware and software OEMs to integrate storage optimization capabilities into their existing solutions without negatively impacting differentiating capabilities or reducing overall performance.

Albireo is being incorporated into OEM offerings from vendors including newly-announced data protection, cloud services, enterprise SAN and NAS, virtualization, and flash solutions. The introduction of a Windows version of Albireo greatly the market reach for OEMs looking to provide cross platform support to organizations regardless of operating environment. More specifically the new SDK version enables Windows-based OEMs to deploy inline, multiple petabyte, performance deduplication in a low memory footprint.

Like the Linux version, the Windows Albireo SDK contains the Albireo software library, API documentation, code samples and application notes for integration with primary, archive and backup storage solutions. Permabit provides technical assistance to ensure integration. OEM customers typically implement Albireo deduplication in less than five days. Independent validation has demonstrated that Albireo offers 5-35X data reduction for general purpose environments through to virtual environments.
