Silicon Mechanics Integrating LSI RAID Cards

Silicon Mechanics, Inc.,
a manufacturer of rackmount servers, storage, and computing hardware, announces
the availability of a full line of LSI Corporation‘s MegaRAID
6Gb/s SATA+SAS RAID controller cards, which offer storage solutions for a range of applications.

The newest 6Gb/s SAS RAID controllers from LSI are designed to
deliver breakthrough input/output operations per second (IOPS) and bandwidth
performance for computing, medical imaging, digital content development, and
other demanding applications. The family of RAID controllers offers a
combination of intelligent performance, enterprise RAID data protection, and
interoperability with the server platforms based on the PCI Express 3.0
specification.

The new MegaRAID controller cards offer 6Gb/s or legacy 3Gb/s
transfer rates; PCIe 2.0 host connectivity; support for SATA, SAS or SSDs; and
LSI software options for select MegaRAID controllers.

Silicon Mechanics offers the full SATA+SAS RAID line-up, which
includes 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s products ranging from 4 to 28 ports, delivering
performance improvements for both 3Gb/s and 6Gb/s systems. The ten new product
SKUs also include packaging options. Products are available with kits
that include FastPath and CacheCade 2.0 bundled with other accessories, making
it easier to order all-inclusive packages rather than piece together components
to make a total solution. The new bundles also decrease total cost for those
who want to enable every available option on their RAID controller.

enterprise or small business. Silicon Mechanics offers a collection of LSI’s
applications and tools, including a pre-boot setup utility and a spectrum
of online RAID management utilities.
