IBM 100GB 1.8-Inch and 2.5-Inch 6Gb SATA MLC SSDs
For System x or BladeCenter
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 11, 2012 at 2:58 pm
The IBM Corp.‘s 100GB
1.8-inch and 2.5-inch SSDs provide high-performance solutions for
high-capacity enterprise applications with a moderate read and write
mix by employing a 6GBps SATA interface and MLC NAND technology.
They employ enterprise MLC NAND technology to bring performance-driven
solution for applications requiring enterprise workloads with a
read-write mix.
These SSDs use a
single-chip controller with a SATA interface on the system side and
n-channels of NAND Flash internally. Packaged in an HDD replacement
enclosure, these SSDs are designed to integrate in existing storage
infrastructures. They are targeted at databases that require high I/O
performance in random read and random write operations including
applications caching and tiering. They can also be configured into
the IBM eXFlash solution for maximum capacity and performance.
The SSDs are covered
under IBM warranty. A 1-year limited warranty, or when installed in a
System x server, these drives assume you’re the system’s base
warranty. Solid-state devices do have finite write or P/E cycles and
are listed as Total Bytes Written.
