PNY Launching Two 2.5-Inch 6Gb SATA SSDs
Prevail and XLR8, 128-bit AES encryption, up to 480GB

PNY’s flash memory expertise has been demonstrated in its past generations of SSDs, and this new family of drives enhances an already product range.

The PNY Prevail series contains two products: the PNY Prevail SSD and the PNY Prevail Elite SSD. The PNY XLR8 Series also includes two drives: the PNY XLR8 Pro and the PNY XLR8.
For the home user and office:
XLR8 Series: XLR8 Pro and XLR8 SSDs
The PNY XLR8 Series SSDs are long-lasting, high-performance storage devices for the office and home. The drives radically cut system boot times and are guaranteed to speed up file transfers and application load times. These mid and entry-level SSDs offer an excellent cost to performance ratio to consumers and businesses alike.
The XLR8 Series drives feature a 2.5" SATA III, 6Gbps interface and support 128-bit AES encryption. They are powered by SandForce 2200 controllers and offer up to 550MB/s sequential read speeds, 520MB/s sequential write speeds and 85,000 random read/write IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second). Available in 480GB, 240GB, and 120GB. XLR8 Pro SSDs come with a 5-year warranty, plus an additional 2-years with online product registration; while the XLR8 SSDs come with a 3-year warranty.
For the multimedia enthusiast:
Prevail and XLR8 Series
These SSDs boast excellent power consumption, a flash endurance rating of up to 10K program/erase cycles and 85,000 maximum 4K random write IOPS. The drives’ sequential read speeds reach 550 MB/s and sequential write speeds of 520 MB/s.
Featuring a 2.5" SATA III, 6Gbps interface and supporting 128-bit AES encryption and secure erase, the Prevail SSD Series offer a level of performance to meet the demanding power user. The XLR8 SSDs and the Prevail SSDs offer multimedia enthusiasts the boost they need to run complex and demanding applications, such as games or photo and video editing software.
Prevail Series SSDs come with a 5-year warranty plus an additional 2 years when the product is registered online.
For the professional:
Prevail and Prevail Elite SSDs
The Prevail SSD and the Prevail Elite ensure the highest levels of security for professionals thanks to a flash endurance rating of up to 10K program/erase cycles. The drives offer enterprise performance with low power operation, making them ideal for the most demanding applications and uses in work environments. RAID mode management also ensures the drives are for office storage upgrades and server and networking deployments. These drives feature a 2.5" SATA III, 6Gbps interface, support 128-bit AES encryption and secure erase.
SSD Upgade Kit
PNY also plans to launch an SSD Upgrade Kit available from October 2012 onwards. The kit guides consumers through the upgrade process from an HDD to an SSD, and includes the necessary hardware required in a desktop upgrade. It contains a 2.5" to 3.5" metallic bay, a set of mounting screws and a SATA III data cable. It is available as a standalone product and bundles with a PNY SSD.
