Active Circle Integrates Archive Solution for Avid Interplay Production

Active Circle releases integration with Avid Interplay Production providing a scalable archive solution for Interplay.

The integration is based on the Interplay Archive gateway for the Interplay Production asset management system and related Interplay media services from Avid.

The solution is installed at Euro Media France, provider of broadcast facilities. It is used within the E-Box, a mobile infrastructure designed for ‘reality TV’ projects. The customer is able to archive and restore assets and sequences from Interplay Access web interface or the Media Composer video editing system.

The reality TV environments are distinguished by the quantity of rushes compared to final broadcast content, increasing the importance of storage infrastructure optimization.

All the content produced is indexed and archived after production. This workflow ensures that the content is safe and available when needed. Interplay Production retrieves the high-resolution assets directly through Active Circle at the conformation stage.

"Thanks to the integration of Active Circle in the Avid Interplay workflow, only the low-resolution data are stored on the Avid ISIS shared storage. This allows us to drastically reduce the production storage, while keeping all the assets available in the archive in high-res," says Frederic Silence, project manager at Euro Media France.
