"ownCloud has always been easy to use, but this partnership with Standing Cloud takes it to a whole new level, providing instant Dropbox-like simplicity and hosting in just a few clicks," said Matt Richards, VP, Products for ownCloud. "Giving customers the choice of multiple cloud providers from a single interface is a key benefit and a unique advantage of Standing Cloud. Customers can now use ownCloud to host their most critical data themselves."
With Standing Cloud, ownCloud customers can choose the cloud provider, data center and geography of their choice for their deployment from among a range of leading public cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services, Rackspace, GoGrid, VPS.net and more.
ownCloud deployments through Standing Cloud are portable from cloud-to-cloud, meaning users are never locked-in to a single platform or cloud provider. They can add capacity or move to another cloud, and are protected against downtime and service outages.
In addition, Standing Cloud’s automated application lifecycle management features provide point-and-click access to automated management services including monitoring and backups, version upgrades, resource scaling and more.
"Making it easy for users to launch and host fully configured instances of ownCloud Business Edition and manage them directly is a great value-add for ownCloud and their customers," said Michael Ficco, VP of Business Development for Standing Cloud. "By reducing the hassles of downloading software and configuring servers, and making it easy for users to spin up trial ‘test drives,’ we can help them grow their customer base in the cloud."

Customers can host their own file sync and share services on their own hardware and storage, use popular public hosting and storage offerings, or both. ownCloud integrates into an existing environment, leveraging security and rights-management tools, policies, and procedures, allowing IT managers to control corporate data, while giving end users the easy-to-use tool they crave.
