Addition to Actifio Protection and Availability Storage

Actifio, Inc. launched an addition to its Protection and Availability Storage (PAS) portfolio: PAS 20T.

Designed for zero-administration and zero-install, PAS 20T is a single, virtualized solution for data protection, DR, BC, test and development or any application that creates copies of production data. Extending the line of simple copy data management offerings, PAS 20T allows a user to manage application data with a single SLA and recover it for any application (virtual or physical) from any point-in-time, at any location.
 
PAS 20T is a single system, with integrated storage capacity to protect and instantly recover up to 20TB of application data, at up to 90% less than the cost of supporting a complex tangle of siloed data protection and availability applications.

Actifio was presenting live demonstrations of this solution at its VMworld booth on August 26-30, 2012.

PAS 20T is a copy data management solution built to protect both physical and virtual servers running Linux and Windows, including object level recovery for Microsoft File Server, SQL Server, Exchange and SharePoint. The system is for VMware environments, integrating through the VMware vStorage API to virtualize the common data management functions – Copy, Store, Move and Restore – into a single, optimized, and more efficient storage platform.

Availability
PAS 20T is a solution to bring enterprise-class data management to millions of mid-market enterprises worldwide. The new solution is available in limited quantities; general availability is scheduled for Q4 2012.
