Nexenta Powers Nordisk NS4000 HA Cluster Unified Storage Appliance

Can scale beyond petabyte.

Nexenta Systems, Inc. announced its NexentaStor technology is powering Nordisk Systems, Inc.‘ NS4000 Clustered Unified Storage Appliance.

This partnership, which began in 2009, combines Nexenta’s ZFS-based NexentaStor with Nordisk Systems’ NS4000 Peta Scale Architecture. The result is a powerful and scalable system that stores mission-critical information.

The NorStor NS4000 Clustered Unified Storage Appliance features a redundant, fault-tolerant storage platform that delivers inline deduplication with unlimited snapshots at a fraction of the cost associated with proprietary enterprise-class storage solutions. It is an Intel Romley-based solution that is certified with the NexentaStor HA Cluster Plug-in, thus delivering tier one availability.

This solution includes:

  • The ability to scale beyond a petabyte of storage
  • Intel’s Romley-based architecture
  • Hex-core hyper-threading CPUs
  • End-to-end 6Gb/s SAS 2.0
  • PCI-E 3.0 for maximum bandwidth
  • PCI-E 3.0 LSI SAS 2.0 HBAs (LSI 9207 Series)
  • Support for 32GB LR DIMMS (768GB of RAM per node)
  • Support for 16 Gb/s FC
  • Emulex 10GbE NICs

The NS4000 supports enterprise performance, availability and features at a mid-tier price point that enables ROI. The It is built with industry standard components-customers now have the option of not being tied to a manufacture’s proprietary hardware, software, or support.

Bill Roth, VP of marketing, said: "Nexenta’s partnership with Nordisk Systems demonstrates the power of OpenStorage. By providing lightning-fast software, Nexenta enables Nordisk Systems to push the boundaries of scalable and affordable storage products.
