Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc. has added VM performance acceleration
appliances from Astute Networks Inc. to its portfolio of virtualization
solutions in North America.
Through a distribution agreement, Arrow ECS will recruit solution
providers for Astute ViSX flash-based VM storage appliances that boost tier 1
application and virtual desktop infrastructure performance by up to 10 times
and offer the best input/output operations per second, per dollar (IOPS/$),
according to Astute Networks.
"Astute Networks appliances enable solution providers to
deploy purpose-built and tightly integrated performance virtualization solutions that mitigate
the storage and network I/O bottlenecks so commonly found in highly virtualized
environments," said Joe Burke, VP of the North American storage, security, virtualization
and networking businesses for Arrow ECS. "ViSX integrates seamlessly
with VMware environments and are cost-effective, reliable and customizable
solutions for performance enhancement."
"Flash-based and hybrid storage systems on the market today
that use off-the-shelf commodity processors and un-optimized software for
storage services and network processing have severe performance limitations
when deployed in virtualized environments," said Steve Kucker, VP of
sales at Astute Networks. "Our ViSX appliances, with their patented
DataPump Engine, are designed to integrate into existing infrastructure
without causing disruption. In addition, ViSX appliances eliminate the I/O
performance problems faced by virtual server managers by delivering optimized
IOPS and network bandwidth that maximize investments in Flash."
