Nexenta Grew 40% Q/Q
Forecasting 350% annual growth in 2012
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 15, 2012 at 2:56 pmNexenta Systems, Inc. grew 40% quarter-on-quarter and is forecasting triple-digit annual revenue growth for the third year in a row – with projected revenue growth for 2012 expected to surpass 350%.
Nexenta’s continued growth is fueled by product innovation, significant additions to its 5,000 customer base, a focus on building and supporting its channel and partner program, and a recent infusion of strategic venture capital funding.
In the first half of 2012 alone, Nexenta closed more new business than it did in all of 2011. Its growing customer base now includes blue-chip companies, including a large Internet content provider, GoDaddy.com, LeaseWeb, several branches of the U.S. Federal Government, a large German digital media company and ESRI. The largest customer deployment of NexentaStor, by KT – which powers the largest public cloud in Asia – grew to nearly 100PB.
Evan Powell, CEO of Nexenta, said: "OpenStorage and our own NexentaStor platform are loosening the stranglehold the proprietary storage industry has on IT innovation. By providing an open solution with an unmatched breadth of capabilities, a software-only business model that enables hardware choice and industry-leading price performance particularly for high IO and high capacity unified storage workloads, NexentaStor delivers the massive improvement in storage total cost of ownership that the IT industry is demanding."
Other milestones in 2012 include:
- A 300% increase in active partners since the beginning of 2012
- The debut of NexentaVSA for View, which simplifies the complexity of VDI deployments
- The unveiling of the Nexenta Premier Partner programme in June
- A slate of contributions to OpenStack in April
- A partnership with Intel to optimise the Xeon E5 Server Platform in March
Bill Roth, VP of marketing, Nexenta, said: "By delivering choice, flexibility, air-tight data protection and industry-leading price performance and breakthrough innovation such as NexentaVSA for View, we are achieving record-setting growth. A lot of the credit should go to our network of almost 300 reseller partners around the world, many of whom provide comprehensive storage solutions, powered by NexentaStor, for their customers."
As part of its commitment to developing and educating the OpenStorage community, Nexenta will host the OpenStorage Summit 2012 in San Jose, CA from October 31 to November 1 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.
